Community Food Bank

We hear a lot about world hunger and see pictures of starving children in other countries, but because we think of the United States as a wealthy country, we don’t think that we are affected. The fact is, though, that there are people going without food, not only in our country, but also in our community. Each year the number of Pennsylvania residents who go hungry continues to grow. Of the current 1.4 million who can’t afford the luxury of 3 meals a day, some are located right here in our community. The recent economic crisis has affected the quality of life of some of our neighbors through loss of jobs and diminishing donations to charities. East Side Bible Church may be small in number but we are big in heart. Each month our members bring non-perishable food items to the church to be given to those in our community who have a legitimate need. If we can help you or anyone you know through a temporary food crisis situation, please call the church at (717) 252-1911, This email address is being protected from spambots.
